This is a very lively but also safe for travelers.  Being on the doorstep of Covent Garden, a former fruit and vegetable market converted into a showcase of British retail and pub life, is a distinct advantage.  Walk amongst the modern high street shops housed in old converted houses and 16th and 17th Century pubs that still serve ale.  The market still retains its old cobbled stone floor and in the summer, buskers show off their performing skills in the square, adding to the city's festivities.
